Senior Metallurgist - Mineral Processing

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Metallurgist to lead their mineral processing team in Randburg . This role is responsible for optimizing metallurgical performance, improving recovery rates, and ensuring the efficient operation of all processing plants. You will be involved in process development, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices to maximize value from the mined resources. • Oversee and optimize metallurgical processes, including crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, and refining.
• Conduct metallurgical test work, analyze results, and recommend process improvements.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to improve plant efficiency and recovery.
• Develop and manage operational budgets for the metallurgy department.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards in all processing activities.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior metallurgists and plant operators.

• Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mineral processing, with a strong background in base metals or precious metals .
• Proven track record in process optimization and problem-solving.
• Familiarity with metallurgical simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of metallurgical chemistry and plant operations.
