Mechanical Engineer - Product Development

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer with a passion for product development to join their innovative team in Randburg . This role is central to bringing new and improved products to market, involving the entire lifecycle from concept generation to design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. You will work in a collaborative setting, contributing your technical expertise to solve complex challenges and create market-leading products.

• Lead mechanical design efforts for new product development projects, from concept through to commercialization.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for new product components and assemblies.
• Perform engineering analysis , including tolerance stack-ups, stress analysis, and thermal management, to ensure product performance and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including industrial design, electronics, software, and manufacturing, to ensure integrated product solutions.
• Oversee prototyping and testing activities, analyzing results and iterating on designs as needed.
• Support manufacturing NPI (New Product Introduction) processes to ensure successful and efficient production ramp-up.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 4-6 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor) and familiarity with PLM systems.
• Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, metal stamping, CNC machining).
• Strong understanding of product development methodologies and phase-gate processes.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
