We are seeking a skilled Draftsperson / CAD Operator with over 5 years’ experience to support the delivery of civil infrastructure projects, with a focus on roads and municipal infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and high-quality engineering drawings and assisting engineers throughout various project phases, from concept design to construction documentation. You will form part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to efficient, compliant, and practical design outputs aligned with South African standards.
Drafting & Design Support
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and layouts for roads, stormwater, and related civil infrastructure.
- Assist with geometric road design drawings, including alignments, cross-sections, and intersections.
- Draft stormwater systems such as pipelines, culverts, manholes, channels, and associated structures.
- Produce road signage and road marking drawings in accordance with relevant standards (e.g. SARTSM).
- Produce municipal infrastructure drawings, sewer, water etc.
- Translate engineering concepts and mark-ups into accurate, clear construction drawings.
Quality & Documentation
- Ensure all drawings comply with company drafting standards and Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
- Maintain drawing registers, file structures, and document control procedures.
- Perform checks on drawings prior to submission.
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and project teams to meet project deadlines.
- Assist in maintaining CAD standards and best practices within the team.
- National Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant draughting qualification.
- Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Certificate
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil infrastructure drafting.
- Experience in roads and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Good understanding of civil engineering drawings and detailing.
- Familiarity with South African design standards (SANRAL, SANS, TMH, etc.) is essential
- Ability to interpret engineering designs and produce accurate drawings.
