Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Process Engineer to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg . This role is pivotal in optimizing our client's manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and sustainability. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and improving chemical processes across various production lines. - Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes to improve yield, quality, and efficiency.
- Conduct process simulations and feasibility studies for new product introductions and process modifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in the plant, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless process implementation and operation.
- Monitor process performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical process engineering role.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics , and mass transfer principles.
- Experience with HAZOP studies and Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
