Senior Process Chemist

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Process Chemist to enhance their R&D operations in Randburg . This role is pivotal in developing, optimizing, and scaling up chemical processes for efficient and safe manufacturing. You will be responsible for translating laboratory-scale syntheses into robust, commercially viable processes, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. • Develop and optimize chemical synthesis routes for scale-up, focusing on safety, efficiency, and cost.
• Conduct process hazard analyses and implement appropriate safety measures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during process development and scale-up.
• Characterize process intermediates and final products using analytical techniques.
• Write detailed process descriptions, batch records, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure successful technology transfer.

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in process chemistry, scale-up, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass transfer.
• Experience with process safety assessments and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques for process monitoring and product characterization.
