Process Engineer - Mineral Processing

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Process Engineer specializing in mineral processing to join their team in Randburg . This role is crucial for optimizing the efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness of their mineral extraction and processing plants. You will be responsible for troubleshooting process issues, implementing improvements, and ensuring the plant operates at peak performance while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

• Analyze and optimize existing mineral processing circuits to improve recovery rates and product quality.
• Troubleshoot operational problems and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
• Design and oversee the implementation of process modifications and upgrades.
• Conduct performance testing and data analysis for various unit operations (e.g., comminution, flotation, leaching).
• Develop and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, and P&IDs.
• Collaborate with site operations, maintenance, and technical teams to achieve production targets and safety objectives.

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral processing , with a strong understanding of metallurgical principles.
• Proven experience with process simulation software (e.g., Met Sim, HSC Chemistry) and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience with operations in commodities such as gold, platinum, or base metals.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
