Senior Civil Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Design Engineer to contribute to their impactful projects in Randburg. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in designing complex civil infrastructure, including site development, earthworks, and drainage systems. You will lead design initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and ensure that all designs meet rigorous quality and safety standards. Working within a collaborative, office-based environment, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions for the region's development needs.

• Lead the design process for site development projects, encompassing grading, drainage, and utility coordination.
• Prepare comprehensive engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for various civil infrastructure projects.
• Perform complex calculations for earthwork volumes, hydraulic design, and stormwater management systems.
• Ensure designs comply with local regulations, municipal standards, and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to achieve project goals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of junior civil engineers and technicians.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil Designer, and relevant modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of stormwater management design, hydrology, and South African building codes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to teamwork in an office setting.
