Location: Randburg
Minimum Requirements
- BEng or BTech in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' Project Engineering experience within:
- Mining
- Mineral Processing
- Heavy Industry
- Plant Construction environments
- Experience managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project
- Exposure to 3D design software such as Solid Works, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar
- Valid driver's liscence and own vehicle
- Willingness to travel to mine sites when required
- Manage the full lifecycle execution of engineering projects from handover through to commissioning
- Coordinate activities between engineering, drafting, procurement, site teams, vendors, and clients
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, resources, and critical deliverables
- Review engineering drawings, piping layouts, structural designs, and 3D models
- Oversee procurement activities, vendor evaluations, and technical compliance reviews
- Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and ensure equipment quality standards are achieved
- Manage mechanical installation, structural steel erection, and equipment alignment on site
- Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning activities, and project close-out documentation
- Strong project management and coordination abilities
- Practical mechanical engineering mindset with excellent problem-solving capability
- Sound understanding of:
- Structural steel fabrication
- Piping systems
- Welding standards
- Rotating equipment
- Mechanical plant installations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced project environments with demanding deadlines
