Location:

ZA, GP, Johannesburg, 30 Baker Street. This role is core to the business's portfolio management, critically analysing and contributing to the equity research process, active asset management of client portfolios, and client relationship management.

The portfolio manager will be accountable for a portfolio of high‑value and sophisticated clients characterised by high‑touch client service and overall client experience, leveraging a robust investment philosophy and process aligned with the MD house view.

Foster collaborative and deep relationships with wealth managers and relationship managers.

Formulates the house view across sectors, expressed in the model portfolio.

Articulates well‑founded views on all stocks and sectors we invest in.

Must be a subject matter expert with deep sector, market, and complex issue analysis skills.

Demonstrates ability in business strategy development and implementation.

Promotes the investment philosophy and tests the integrity of the team's work against it.

Responsible for providing clients with a high‑touch personal experience, building deep relationships, and achieving trusted advisor status.

Shapes and implements the investment process, ensuring client portfolios align with the house view and investment mandates.

Qualifications (Preferred):

• Post Graduate (4‑year) degree in Investment Management, Accounting & Finance, Economics, or numerical subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Analytics.
• CFA – Ideally completed or in progress.
• FAIS – Must have successfully completed FSB / FAIS exams.

Knowledge / Technical Skills / Expertise:
Portfolio Management, Sales & Service, and Investments – Leadership experience within asset management or senior portfolio management, preferably managing assets for High‑Net Worth Clients.

Proven decision‑making track record.
