As part of our commitment to strong governance, compliance, and financial excellence, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to oversee the company’s tax compliance, planning, and reporting functions.
Role PurposeThe Tax Manager will be responsible for managing all direct and indirect tax matters, ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws, optimizing the company’s tax position, and providing strategic tax advice to senior management. This role requires strong technical tax expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage audits, regulatory interactions, and internal tax processes.
Key Responsibilities 1. Compliance & Reporting- Prepare, review, and ensure accurate and timely filing of all direct and indirect tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations applicable to company operations.
- Maintain proper tax documentation and records in line with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement effective tax planning and tax-saving strategies.
- Identify potential tax risks and exposures and recommend mitigation measures.
- Advise senior management on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, restructurings, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits, assessments, inquiries, and notices from tax authorities and external auditors.
- Act as the primary point of contact with tax authorities and professional advisors.
- Support resolution of tax disputes and ensure timely closure of audit matters.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
- Provide guidance and technical support to internal stakeholders on complex tax matters.
- Prepare technical tax memos and position papers as required.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior tax staff.
- Review team output to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Promote a strong culture of tax compliance, ethics, and continuous learning within the team.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Implement best practices and leverage tax and accounting software to enhance accuracy and productivity.
- Support integration of tax requirements within ERP systems and financial processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- A postgraduate qualification in Taxation is an added advantage.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in public accounting or a corporate tax environment.
- At least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
. - Experience with in manufacturing or multinational environments is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., Pro System fx TAX) and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
