An established and performance-driven organisation is seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Manager (CA(SA)) to lead a key finance function within the business.
This is a strategic leadership role suited to a commercially astute finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with proven team management capability and the ability to partner effectively with senior operational stakeholders.
The Opportunity The Senior Financial Manager will take ownership of financial reporting, planning, compliance, and performance analysis, while leading and developing a team within the finance function.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can provide clear financial direction, ensure strong governance, and drive performance through meaningful commercial insight.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Governance
- Oversee accurate and timely monthly management reporting
- Ensure preparation and review of quarterly and annual reporting in line with IFRS
- Support the preparation and finalisation of Annual Financial Statements
- Oversee corporate income tax, provisional tax calculations, and related statutory submissions
- Act as key finance contact during internal and external audits
- Ensure balance sheet integrity, appropriate provisions, and strong financial controls
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
- Drive financial planning across business units
- Oversee variance analysis and recommend corrective action
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity modelling to support strategic decision-making
- Monitor cash flow to ensure financial stability
- Analyse revenue, margins, expenses, and profitability trends
- Provide executive-level dashboards and financial presentations
- Identify financial risks and opportunities
- Drive cost optimisation and process improvement initiatives
- Lead special projects and ad hoc financial analysis to support business growth
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals
- Drive performance management and succession planning
- Foster a high-performance and collaborative team culture
- Act as escalation point for finance-related matters
- Champion continuous improvement and transformation within the finance function
- Partner with operational leaders to understand key business drivers
- Provide financial insight to support strategic initiatives
- Build strong relationships across departments to ensure alignment and accountability
- CA(SA) qualification (essential)
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a commercial finance or business partnering role
- At least 5 years’ experience leading and managing a team
- Strong financial reporting and tax exposure
- Recent experience in preparing and reviewing Annual Financial Statements
- Advanced MS Excel (including modelling and scenario planning)
- Experience operating in a high-volume transaction environment
