What You Will Do Reserving & Capital- Perform monthly reserving calculations including IBNR and OSCR.
- Support economic capital reporting.
- Conduct Actual vs Expected analyses to keep the portfolio razor sharp.
- Prepare quarterly PAA-based IFRS 17 workings and results.
- Perform eligibility assessments and onerous contract testing.
- Modernize and refine actuarial and IFRS 17 models.
- Build, improve, and automate workflows — efficiency is your playground.
- Deep dive into data to uncover trends, anomalies, and insights.
- Identify, resolve, and prevent data quality issues through smart controls.
- Maintain world‑class documentation for processes, models, and methodologies.
Ad-hoc analysis is part of the game — versatility is key.
What You Bring Education & Qualification- BSc/BCom in Actuarial Science (or equivalent).
- Nearly or newly qualified actuary (ASSA or equivalent).
- Bonus: FASSA, programming skills (VBA, R, Python), Power
BI.
- 3+ years in actuarial or short‑term insurance environments.
- Strong data‑handling capability.
- Advantageous experience in:
IFRS 17 - Reserving/Reporting
- Automation of actuarial/financial models
- Trade Credit or Guarantee environments
- Advanced Excel; SQL/Python/VBA beneficial.
- Exceptional analytical & problem‑solving ability.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Tech‑savvy, inquisitive, and always seeking better ways of doing things.
- A self‑starter who takes initiative.
- A team player who contributes to positive culture.
- Organized, consistent, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Curious, motivated, long‑term minded.
