SUMMARY:
An opportunity exists for a technically strong Financial Accountant to join a high-performing finance environment where accuracy, ownership, and analytical thinking are essential. This role is suited to a recently qualified professional looking to transition from articles into a commercially focused reporting role, gaining exposure to full-function accounting, compliance, and reporting within a fast-paced operational business.
POSITION INFO:The position offers broad exposure across financial reporting, tax, audit support, and process improvement initiatives. Success in this role requires strong technical foundations, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively within structured reporting deadlines while contributing to continuous improvement across finance processes.
DUTIES:- Process and review journals to maintain accurate general ledger records
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
- Prepare monthly management accounts with supporting schedules and variance analysis
- Assist with VAT, income tax, and provisional tax submissions and reconciliations
- Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of audit files
- Assist with regulatory and compliance reporting requirements
- Contribute to sustainability and ESG reporting data preparation
- Perform financial analysis including cost and profitability analysis
- Support finance-related projects and process improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to IFRS and internal accounting standards
SKILLS REQUIRED:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- BCom Accounting degree (Essential)
- SAICA or SAIPA articles completed
- 0–2 years post‑articles experience
- Exposure to financial reporting and reconciliations
- Experience working with ERP systems advantageous
- Experience in tax compliance and statutory reporting beneficial
