Matric or equivalent. Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Registration with SANC as Professional Nurse. Have a minimum of four (4) years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing. Must have post basic qualification with a duration of at least 1 year, accredited and registered with SANC in Orthopaedic Nursing.

Provide optimal, holistic, specialised nursing care with set standards and within a professional/ legal framework. Effective utilisation of resources. Participate in training and research. Provide support to nursing services. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development. Act as shift leader in the unit (where necessary). Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors and other health professionals and junior colleagues. Implementation of ideal Hospital Framework.
