What will you be doing?
Smith & Nephew is seeking an experienced Market Access Manager to support all business units by leading and coordinating Market Access activities across the country. This role will project‑manage strategically important work streams that enable coverage, reimbursement, and adoption of S&N technologies, directly contributing to commercial success.
You will work in a matrix environment, collaborating closely with global and local cross‑functional teams, while engaging directly with payers and economic decision‑makers to create, optimise, and defend reimbursement and funding strategies.
What will you need to be successful?
Identify opportunities to improve coverage and overcome market access barriers for S&N productsDevelop and execute strategies to create, optimise, and defend reimbursement and fundingCoordinate local HTA submissions, applications, and negotiations to achieve timely access at target pricingAdapt global payer value propositions into relevant, localised payer messagesMonitor the reimbursement and policy landscape to identify opportunities and risksEngage directly with payers, economic decision‑makers, and key stakeholders to support adoption of S&N technologiesWork closely with Global Clinical Strategy, Health Economics, Evidence, Communications, and Commercial teams to define evidence requirementsLead or support development of budget impact models, cost models, and real‑world evidence analysesSupport clinical teams with site identification and protocol input for in‑market studiesManage selected external consultants supporting strategic projectsEngage with industry and professional associations to represent S&N interestsTrain commercial colleagues to effectively communicate the economic value propositionProvide reimbursement input into NPD, licensing, and acquisition opportunitiesSuccessful candidates would need the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Economics, or a related field3–4+ years’ experience in healthcareMinimum 2 years’ experience in a market access, marketing, clinical, or commercial roleStrong understanding of national and regional funding and reimbursement processesExcellent project management skillsProven ability to work cross‑functionally, virtually, and independentlyStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsEffective negotiation skills with flexibility and resilienceHigh agility and comfort working in fast‑moving, ambiguous environmentsProactive, results‑driven mindset with a “make it happen” attitudeConfident operating in a matrix organisationYou.
