Network Administrator

A leading organisation in the automotive industry is seeking a technically strong Network Administrator for a 3-month fixed term contract to support and maintain its enterprise-grade network infrastructure within a structured, governance-driven environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies including Cisco Meraki switching and WiFi, Velo Cloud SD-WAN, and multi-vendor network platforms, while contributing to both project implementations and operational support. As a key technical contributor, you will execute network upgrades and infrastructure deployments, provide first- and second-level support, ensure high availability and optimal performance of the enterprise network stack, and operate strictly within established change management and procedural frameworks.

Working closely with senior network engineers, you will play a critical role in maintaining network stability, supporting documentation and reporting requirements, and contributing to knowledge sharing within a highly professional and structured enterprise environment.

Requirements

• CCNA certification (essential) with a minimum of 3+ years’ network infrastructure experience
• Strong routing & switching fundamentals with solid understanding of TCP/IP and firewall basics
• Experience working in multi-vendor enterprise network environments
• Proven hands-on exposure to Cisco networking equipment, basic firewall configuration, and network monitoring tools
• Strong troubleshooting methodology and ability to resolve complex network issues
• Comfortable operating within structured governance and change management frameworks
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
• Advantageous: SD-WAN (Velo Cloud), VoIP (SIP/RTP/QoS), Azure/AWS cloud networking, Cisco Meraki wireless, automation tools, basic Python or Power Shell scripting
• Additional certifications such as Network+, Security+, PCNSA, or vendor-specific credentials are beneficial
• Willingness to work in a 3-month fixed-term contract role within an automotive enterprise environment, including possible on-call rotation, occasional after-hours support, and limited travel

Responsibilities

Projects & Implementation

• Execute network infrastructure projects
• Perform equipment installations and configuration deployments
• Support network migrations and technology implementations
• Work under senior guidance in line with project specifications

Maintenance

• Conduct scheduled and preventive maintenance
• Apply firmware and configuration updates
• Ensure optimal performance of network infrastructure components

Technical Support & Knowledge Transfer

• Provide first- and second-level network support
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, and connectivity issues
• Document solutions and contribute to knowledge sharing

Critical Issue Management

• Respond to incidents within defined SLA frameworks
• Assist with troubleshooting and escalation
• Participate in structured incident response processes

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate network documentation and diagrams
• Generate performance and operational reports
• Contribute to standard operating procedure development
