Mainframe Systems Engineer / Programmer Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Systems Engineer / Programmer to support and maintain our IBM z/OS environment within a banking environment. This role is responsible for system installation, maintenance, performance tuning, security compliance, and 24x7 production support, while enabling modern API integration through z/OS Connect.

• Administer and support z/OS (MVS/OS390) environments on IBM z14 / z16 hardware.
• Plan and implement OS upgrades, including z/OS 3.1.
• Install, maintain, and apply fixes (APARs/PTFs) using SMP/E.
• Implement and support z/OS Connect to enable RESTful APIs and JSON services.
• Manage system configurations through formal change control.
• Support and maintain core components including:
• JES2, z/OSMF, VTAM/TCPIP
• TSO/ISPF/SDSF
• RMF, RACF, HCD/IODF
• Sysplex, TPX, TWS
• CA, Compuware, and BMC performance tools
• Perform performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.
• Ensure compliance with banking security standards.
• Provide 24x7 production support and problem resolution.
• Maintain technical documentation.

• 5+ years of z/OS systems programming experience, preferably in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of z/OS installation, maintenance, performance tuning, and security (RACF).
• Experience with SMP/E, Sysplex, RMF, and z/OS Connect.
• Ability to support mission-critical, high-availability environments.
