Our client, the owner of several companies and prominent brands across a variety of industry sectors, is seeking to employ an experienced Group Network and Systems Administrator to join their Head Office team based in City Deep, Johannesburg.
This role is critical to ensuring stable, secure, and high-performing network and server environments across all group sites. The successful candidate will be hands-on, technically strong, highly organised, and able to take ownership of network operations, security, and infrastructure maintenance while supporting group-wide IT initiatives.

Requirements:
Matric Certificate
A+ / N+ – Microsoft Certificate / Engineer
MCITP
Network Security+
Diploma in IT Systems Administration (NQF Level 4/5 or equivalent)
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in IT Administration and Network Management
Technical Expertise
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols
Firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure
VPNs (site-to-site and client)
Mikrotik RouterOS
Microsoft Active Directory & Office 365
Windows Server 2019/2022 and Windows 10/11
Hyper-V Virtualization
Network and server monitoring tools
Microsoft 365 (Teams, One Drive, SharePoint)
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
Manage and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, Wi-Fi, and Internet connectivity across all group sites
Monitor network and server performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve service tickets
Configure, maintain, and document switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and cabling
Support hybrid environments and cloud connectivity (Office 365 / Azure)
Implement and maintain network and server security, including firewalls, access controls, patching, and secure remote access
Identify risks and proactively manage network and server security threats
Plan and execute network and server upgrades, migrations, and maintenance
Ensure backups are completed, tested, documented, and restored when required
Manage user accounts and access levels on servers and systems
Maintain and optimise virtual machine (VM) environments and server performance (CPU, RAM, storage)
Perform regular failover and disaster recovery testing
Manage and respond to network and server emergencies
Liaise with service providers, vendors, and contractors
Assist with group-wide IT projects and mentor junior IT staff
