QA Analyst position available in Johannesburg.

PBT Group is looking for an experienced QA Analyst / Tester to join our high-performing team, supporting a large-scale platform re‑engineering and migration initiative within the financial services environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, transaction‑driven systems where quality, accuracy, and stability are critical. You’ll play a key role in validating end‑to‑end business and technical functionality, ensuring a seamless transition to the new platform.

If you’re a detail‑oriented QA professional with strong manual testing experience—particularly in banking, payments, or card‑based platforms—we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Plan, design, and execute manual test cases for functional and integration testing
  • Validate core platform capabilities, including:
  • Account and card availability
  • Activation and deactivation processes
  • Transaction and balance management
  • Card loading and replacement workflows
  • Identify, log, and manage defects through to resolution using standard defect management tools
  • Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and support business stakeholders throughout the testing lifecycle
  • Ensure all testing activities align with QA standards, governance, and documentation requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and helping mitigate delivery risks

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of software testing experience, ideally within financial services, banking, or payments
  • Strong hands‑on experience with manual testing, test planning, and execution
  • Exposure to card‑based or transactional systems (highly advantageous)
  • Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman, or similar) – beneficial but not essential
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, ALM, or Azure Dev Ops
  • API and integration testing experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong documentation skills

Key

Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working independently and within cross‑functional teams
  • Calm, structured approach in high‑pressure migration environments
  • Proactive, adaptable, and quality‑driven mindset
