Role OverviewThe Agile Project Manager is a pivotal role within OM Bank’s PMO, responsible for facilitating project management and scrum practices, coaching teams, and ensuring successful project delivery through a hybrid approach. This role combines traditional project management discipline with Agile methodologies to drive initiatives from inception through to completion, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, adherence to governance standards, and delivery within scope, time, and budget constraints.
The Agile PM serves as a servant leader to the project team, removing impediments, fostering collaboration, and championing the PMO’s standards and best practices. This role is critical in OM Bank’s transformation journey, supporting the organisation’s shift toward a more structured, accountable, and efficient delivery model while maintaining agility and responsiveness to customer needs.
Role ObjectivesThe Agile PM is accountable for delivering measurable outcomes that support OM Bank’s strategic transformation while embedding PMO governance standards into daily delivery practices. Success in this role is demonstrated through project delivery excellence, team performance improvement, and the successful adoption of structured governance within an Agile context.
- Project Delivery Excellence
- Deliver assigned projects on time, within budget, and to agreed scope, achieving adherence to planned timelines, budget constraints, and resource planning and capacity.
- Maintain project health scores through proactive risk management and issue resolution.
- Ensure all projects have complete, PMO‑approved Project plans and project scope documents before initiation, with zero tolerance for projects starting without proper governance approval.
- Achieve sprint goal completion consistently across assigned project teams.
- Deliver projects that meet or exceed defined acceptance criteria and quality standards.
- PMO Standards Adoption and Compliance
- Champion compliance with PMO governance standards including mandatory JIRA field completion, status reporting cadence, and documentation requirements.
- Ensure all assigned projects maintain current, accurate project documentation in Confluence, with zero instances of outdated or missing critical documentation.
- Drive adoption of standardised project templates, workflows, and reporting mechanisms across assigned squads.
- Facilitate successful project intake and prioritisation processes, ensuring all initiatives undergo proper portfolio review and approval.
- Serve as a PMO ambassador, educating squads on governance requirements and demonstrating the value of structured delivery approaches.
- Team Performance and Capability Development
- Improve squad velocity and predictability metrics through effective Project governance facilitation and risk mitigation.
- Facilitate retrospectives that generate actionable improvements, with action items completed before the next retrospective.
- Coach Product Owners and project teams on project best practices, contributing to increased team maturity in consistently delivering projects.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, psychological safety, and accountability within assigned squads.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Maintain transparent, timely communication with stakeholders through weekly status updates, executive dashboards, and proactive risk escalation.
- Facilitate effective decision‑making by providing clear, data‑driven insights and recommendations to business stakeholders and Product Owners.
- Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring no surprises and early visibility of potential issues or delays.
