Own core enterprise systems virtualisation, identity, collaboration, cloud, networking and backups. Blend 3rd-line administration with project delivery to improve reliability, security and cost efficiency.

What You’ll Do

• Administer and optimise VMware clusters (performance, capacity, patching).

• Manage Active Directory/Entra (users, GPOs, DNS/DHCP, hybrid identity, PKI).

• Operate Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) and hybrid Exchange.

• Build/support Azure (VMs, storage, networking); enforce security and cost guardrails.

• Run Veeam backups/replication; test recoveries to agreed RPO/RTO.

• Oversee Cloudflare (DNS/WAF/CDN) and core network dependencies.

• Automate with Power Shell; maintain CMDB and clean documentation.

• Perform health checks, patching and upgrades; follow ITIL for incidents/changes.

• Provide 3rd-line support and deliver improvement projects with peers.

What You Bring

• 5–7+ years’ systems admin experience across Windows/VMware/M365/Azure.

• Solid networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs), security basics and PKI.

• Proven Power Shell automation; scripting for scale and repeatability.

• Experience with Veeam (or similar) and DR testing.

• Clear communicator; structured, detail-driven and service-oriented.

• Relevant certs advantageous (e.g., VCP, AZ-104/305, MS-102).

• Stable, well-patched platforms with clear observability and low incident rates.

• Fast, reliable restores; DR tests passed to target RPO/RTO.

• Automated routines reducing toil and mean-time-to-resolve.

• Predictable costs across Azure/M365 with usage and savings tracked.

• Up-to-date runbooks and a knowledge-enabled support team.

Realistic Preview: You’ll juggle BAU and projects in a live environment—after-hours maintenance windows and urgent escalations happen. The upside: visible impact on uptime, security and developer velocity.
