Solutions Development Manager

A leading South African organisation is seeking an experienced Solutions Development Manager to lead the delivery of innovative, secure, and scalable technology solutions that support business growth and digital transformation. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic technology leader with a strong software development and solutions engineering background.

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of technology solutions aligned to business objectives.
• Drive innovation through the evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies, automation, and modern development practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, business analysts, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity specialists, and external vendors.
• Champion Agile, Dev Ops, and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance delivery performance and solution quality.
• Develop and mentor high-performing technical teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Manage relationships with development partners and technology vendors to ensure quality service delivery and value creation.
• Establish and monitor delivery KPIs, reporting on solution performance, user satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.
• Identify and mitigate technical, operational, cybersecurity, and project delivery risks.
• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives and the development of customer-centric technology solutions.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8-10+ years' experience in solutions engineering, software development, or solution delivery leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading development teams and delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles, solution architecture, Agile delivery, and Dev Ops practices.
• Experience managing vendors, technology partners, and stakeholder relationships.

• System Architecture
  :
  Needs deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices.
• Flexibility
  :
  Focuses more on high-level design patterns than mastering just one specific language.
• Modern Standards
  :
  Must understand databases, APIs, and Dev Ops pipelines.

• Honours Degree in a relevant field.
• TOGAF Foundation or Enterprise Architecture Certification.
• ITIL Foundation Certification.
• Project Management Certification such as PRINCE2 or PMBOK.
• Microsoft, Oracle, or other relevant technology certifications.
