About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking IT and Computer Science Educator to join their innovative secondary school in Randburg. This role involves equipping students with essential digital literacy, programming, and problem-solving skills for the 21st century. You will develop and deliver engaging curriculum covering areas like coding, software development, cybersecurity, and network fundamentals. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology education, adaptable to new tools and methodologies, and committed to fostering a collaborative and inquisitive learning environment, supporting both on-site and remote learning components of the curriculum delivery, ensuring students are well-prepared for future academic and career pathways.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver high-quality instruction in IT and Computer Science subjects, including programming languages (e.g., Python, Java), web development, and data science basics.
- Develop practical, hands-on learning experiences, including coding projects, network simulations, and cybersecurity exercises.
- Assess student learning through projects, tests, and practical assignments, providing regular feedback.
- Stay current with advancements in technology and integrate them into the curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Collaborate with the IT department and other faculty members to support school-wide technology initiatives and ensure effective hybrid learning strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience teaching IT or Computer Science at the secondary school level.
- Strong knowledge of current IT trends, programming languages, and educational technology tools.
- Experience with both in-person and online teaching methodologies.
