** Are you someone who has experience in:
*** Responsible for the 24/7 support of postgres production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by the business systems  
** You will be responsible for:
*** Responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of PostgreSQL databases supporting business-critical applications.
* Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain PostgreSQL database servers across development, test, and production environments.
* Design, implement, and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions using PostgreSQL replication technologies (streaming replication, Patroni, repmgr, etc.).
* Proactively monitor PostgreSQL instances, identify performance bottlenecks, and minimize downtime through preventive maintenance and health checks.
* Perform database performance tuning by optimizing SQL queries, indexes, execution plans, and PostgreSQL configuration parameters.
* Plan, implement, and validate backup and recovery strategies using tools such as pgBackRest, pg _basebackup, WAL archiving, and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR).
* Manage database storage, table spaces, and capacity planning to ensure optimal utilization and future scalability.
* Create and maintain database objects, including schemas, tables, indexes, views, sequences, functions, and materialized views.
* Implement database changes, schema migrations, and release deployments in coordination with development and application teams.
* Configure and maintain PostgreSQL security by managing users, roles, privileges, authentication methods, SSL certificates, and auditing.
* Monitor database growth, resource utilization, replication health, and system performance, providing trend analysis and capacity planning reports.
* Perform routine database maintenance activities such as VACUUM, ANALYZE, REINDEX, statistics management, and partition maintenance.
* Troubleshoot and resolve PostgreSQL database issues related to performance, replication, connectivity, locking, deadlocks, and data integrity.
* Configure and maintain logical and physical replication, replication slots, WAL management, and failover mechanisms.
* Support database migration and upgrade activities, including major PostgreSQL version upgrades and data migration projects.
* Develop and execute SQL scripts, stored procedures, and ad-hoc queries to support reporting, troubleshooting, and operational requirements.
* Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and Dev Ops teams to ensure database availability, security, and operational excellence.
* Automate routine PostgreSQL administration tasks using shell scripting, SQL, and scheduling tools such as pg _cron.
* Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, backup standards, and database governance best practices.

* What you will need:

*** Must have between 4 and 6 years relevant experience
* Experience administering Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL databases on AWS is an added advantage.
* Must be able to perform duties listed above
* Postgres technical skills  + General database maintenance  + Database performance & storage optimisation  + Database security
* Good knowledge of PSQL.
* Good knowledge of Linux
* Hands-on experience in configuring, administering, and troubleshooting PostgreSQL ecosystem tools, including Pgpool-II, Patroni, pgBackRest, and PgBouncer, to support high availability, connection pooling, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
