Engineering Lead, Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Engineering Lead to envision, lead, and develop integrated, end-to-end technical solutions across multiple technologies. This role requires inspirational technical leadership and long-term strategic thinking to guide engineering practitioners, ensure product and program alignment, and drive innovation.

• Analyze complex problems and formulate achievable, operational solutions aligned with organizational boundaries, architectures, and constraints, while also pushing for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Navigate proposed solutions through relevant governance forums, securing acceptance from domain and technology specialists.
• Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, fostering communication and obtaining buy-in.
• Decompose solutions, assist with work sequencing and scheduling, and identify resourcing needs.
• Develop detailed designs and contribute to functional and non-functional requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to software designers on lower-level designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical delivery issues.
• Design with a holistic, robust, and sustainable mindset, applying a product management perspective with long-term thinking.
• Mentor and coach software engineering practitioners, fostering their growth.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the technical landscape and its interdependencies.
• Identify and manage technical constraints and risks, making necessary trade-offs.
• Influence and negotiate with key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
• Craft end-to-end solutions considering people, technology, systems, and data.
• Future-proof solutions within organizational constraints, ensuring long-term sustainability of technical assets.
• Contribute to the growth of the engineering lead practice through active participation in the engineering lead chapter.
• Drive organizational alignment across areas of accountability.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and upskilling to others within areas of expertise.
• Support the achievement of business strategy, objectives, and values.
• Stay abreast of developments in the field of expertise.
• Ensure personal growth and effectiveness in role responsibilities.
• Contribute to the Bank's culture-building initiatives and corporate responsibility programs.
• Proactively seek opportunities to improve business processes, models, and systems through agile thinking.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in similar engineering leadership roles.
• Proven expertise in IT Architecture, IT Concepts, and Systems Analysis and Design.
• Demonstrated ability in Decision Making, Collaboration, Innovation, Influencing, Managing Work, Continuous Learning, and Coaching.

• BSc (Computer Science) or BCom (Information Systems).
• Professional Qualification Level 6 (or equivalent under current naming conventions).
• TOGAF Certification, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), or equivalent.
