Senior UX​/UI Designer - E-commerce Platform

The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio showcasing their expertise in both user experience strategy and high-fidelity interface design.

• Lead the end-to-end design process for the e-commerce platform, from user research and wire framing to high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
• Develop and maintain a consistent design system and style guide across all user touchpoints.
• Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform design decisions.
• Translate complex user needs and business requirements into elegant and effective design solutions.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and marketing teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
• Advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring a user-centric approach.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a collaborative and creative team environment.
• Stay abreast of the latest UX/UI trends, technologies, and best practices in e-commerce design.
• Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders effectively.
• Optimize user flows and interface elements for conversion rates and user engagement.

• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design, with a significant focus on e-commerce or complex digital products.
• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional UI design skills, UX strategy, and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator), or similar.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing, and translating findings into actionable design improvements.
• Solid understanding of front-end development principles and how they impact UI design.
• Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for typography, color, layout, and detail.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a hybrid work environment in Johannesburg, Gauteng
