Senior Network Solutions Architect

About the Role Our client, a prominent player in the telecommunications sector, is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Network Solutions Architect to join their prestigious team in Johannesburg, Gauteng, ZA . This is a critical role focused on designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable network solutions that meet the evolving demands of our enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of current and emerging network technologies, with a proven ability to translate complex business requirements into effective technical designs.

You will be at the forefront of shaping our network infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance. This position requires a strong technical acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, and a dedication to delivering cutting-edge solutions within a fast-paced environment.

• Design and architect end-to-end network solutions, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, cloud networking, and security infrastructure.
• Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and develop compelling technical proposals.
• Develop detailed network designs, diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Perform technical presentations and demonstrations to clients and stakeholders.
• Lead the implementation and deployment of network solutions, overseeing project timelines and ensuring successful delivery.
• Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for complex network issues.
• Stay current with industry trends, vendor roadmaps, and new technologies.
• Mentor junior network engineers and contribute to the team's knowledge base.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
• Ensure solutions align with security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and vendors.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in network design, architecture, and implementation.
• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching technologies, and network security principles.
• Experience with cloud networking platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SDN/SD-WAN solutions.
• Strong understanding of network security concepts, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE) are highly desirable.
• Proven experience in a client-facing or pre-sales technical role.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools is a plus.
