Purpose of Position- To take work that currently runs on paper, in spreadsheets or outside the core systems, and replace it with well-built Microsoft Power Platform solutions that people actually use. The role owns a low-code solution from end to end: understanding what the business needs, writing a specification the business can sign off, and then building, testing, and supporting the solution within the define guardrails.
- Required:
Grade 12 - Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience; 5 or more years building production solutions on Microsoft Power Platform.
- At least 1 relevant Microsoft Certification such as Microsoft AB-410 (Intelligent Applications Builder), PL-400 (Power Platform Developer), PL-600 (Power Platform Solution Architect Expert), or PL-200 (Power Platform Functional Consultant).
- Recommended:
Other supplementary certifications supporting the requirements of this role
- Developing solutions using Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate, Power BI, Co-pilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, SharePoint, SQL, and Dataverse.
- Demonstrable experience gathering requirements and writing specifications signed off by business users.
- Solution lifecycle management across development, test, and production environments.
- Integration with Dynamics 365 F&SCM advantageous.
- Experience in equipment rental, field service, or another asset-intensive business advantageous
- Requirements analysis: work with business users and process owners to understand how the work is done today and what problem needs solving, and challenge the requirement where a simpler process or standard D365 feature would solve it without building anything.
- Solution specification: write specifications covering process, screens, data, approvals, and acceptance criteria, and obtain business owner sign-off before build starts.
- Solution build: build solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Co-pilot Studio, Dataverse, SharePoint, Azure resources and other related platforms / tools, integrating with D365 F&SCM and the Staedean rental module, within IT guardrails for environments, data loss prevention, security and solution lifecycle management.
- Testing, release, and handover: test against acceptance criteria, support user acceptance testing, release through the managed deployment pipeline, and hand over documented solutions to Business Systems Support and the Change & Training Lead.
- Managed partner direction: where 3rd party partner is involved, brief the managed Power Platform development partner through specifications, and review their work against acceptance criteria and IT build standards before it is accepted.
- Support and continuous improvement: provide third-line support for owned solutions, monitor failures and usage, maintain the Power Platform solution inventory, retire unused solutions, and identify further manual processes worth bringing into the system
