Application Manager

Our client is seeking an Applications Manager to lead and optimise its enterprise applications environment. This role is ideal for a technology professional who can bridge the gap between business and IT, ensuring that applications effectively support operational and strategic objectives.

Reporting to the ICT Executive, you will be responsible for managing the applications landscape, driving continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing vendor relationships, and ensuring effective governance across critical business systems. This position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to play a key role in technology-driven business improvement and digital transformation initiatives.

• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, leadership teams, and external service providers.
• Analyse business processes and identify opportunities for operational and system improvements.
• Translate business requirements into effective system designs and technology solutions.
• Manage application-related projects, enhancements, testing, deployment, and change initiatives.
• Ensure application implementations align with business objectives and architectural standards.
• Support and guide end users across the applications landscape.
• Manage vendor relationships, service level agreements, and application performance.
• Oversee system governance, user authorisations, and compliance controls.
• Manage application budgets and contribute to the annual budgeting process.
• Develop reporting and provide business-focused recommendations.
• Drive application training initiatives and improve operational procedures.

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or a related qualification.
• Valid Code B driver's licence.
• Minimum 10 years' experience within a functional SAP ERP support environment.
• Minimum 5 years' Applications Management experience.
• Proven ERP migration experience.
• Strong experience in application lifecycle management and technical support.
• Experience managing third-party vendors, contracts, and service providers.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
• Experience presenting to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
• Proven people management and resource planning capabilities.

• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
• Business Analysis certification.
• SAP ERP Functional certification.
• SAP ECC and S/4
  
  HANA experience.
