Mid-Level Hydrogeologist

Location:

Job Summary:

Hire Resolve’s client, a leading firm in the Water & Environmental Consulting Industry, is looking for a motivated and experienced Hydrogeologist to join their team in Johannesburg. As a Hydrogeologist, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects involving water resource management, groundwater modeling, and environmental impact assessments.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in handling intricate groundwater projects and components
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines, budgets, and delegate tasks
  • Experience in managing fieldwork and subcontractors
  • Exceptional skills in interpreting data accurately
  • Ensuring that all project components adhere to high-quality standards and safety protocols
  • Demonstrating heightened awareness and responsibility in contributing to overall group and unit revenue, as well as staff resourcing
  • Experience to the level of an independent consultant
  • Expertise in geophysics, pump testing and conceptual modelling
  • Expertise in ArcGIS and mapping skills
  • Report writing and preparation of proposals
  • Assist with development of clients and attracting new clients
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Honours or Master’s degree in Hydrogeology
  • Regsitered as Pr Sci Nat
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Hydrogeologist in the water and environmental consulting industry – mostly spent on mining projects
  • Strong knowledge of hydrogeological principles, groundwater modeling, and data analysis
  • Proficiency in groundwater modeling software (., MODFLOW, FEFLOW)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Project management and report writing skills
  • Expertise in geophysics, pump testing, ArcGIS and mapping skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
