Full Stack Developer

Position Summary

IT Max is seeking an experienced, highly technical, and accomplished Full Stack Developer to join our software engineering team in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this specialized application development role, you will spearhead designing, building, testing, and deploying robust end-to-end web applications and microservices architecture. As a Full Stack Developer at IT Max in Johannesburg, South Africa, you will take full ownership of developing and scaling enterprise-grade software applications from concept to production deployment. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass building responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript/Type Script frameworks, engineering secure backend services and APIs, and managing relational and non-relational database stores. You will write clean, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, execute unit and integration testing, and collaborate within Agile sprint squads.

Working in a fast-paced technology environment, you will troubleshoot production issues, optimize system performance, and drive continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust, scalable full-stack web applications and microservices.
• Build dynamic, responsive, and high-performance front-end user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Architect and develop secure, RESTful backend APIs, services, and business logic layers.
• Design and optimize relational and non-relational database schemas, queries, and data storage models.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 4+ years of professional software engineering experience specializing in full-stack web development.
• Strong proficiency in frontend technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/Type Script).
• Strong proficiency in backend programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or C#/.NET).
• Solid experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs, JSON web services, and microservices architectures.
