The Service Now Developer is responsible for the design, development, configuration, enhancement, and support of Service Now applications and modules. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical teams to deliver scalable and efficient Service Now solutions that support business processes and digital transformation initiatives
Job Responsibilities- Design, develop, configure, and customize Service Now applications and workflows.
- Build and maintain Service Now modules, integrations, forms, catalogs, reports, dashboards, and automated workflows.
- Develop and support Service Now ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, or other platform capabilities as required.
- Create and maintain custom scripts, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, Script Includes, and Flow Designer automations.
- Integrate Service Now with internal and external systems using REST, SOAP, APIs, and other integration technologies.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve platform issues and defects.
- Participate in solution design sessions and provide technical recommendations.
- Ensure development activities comply with Service Now best practices, governance standards, and security requirements.
- Support platform upgrades, testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and support teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), OR,
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (if CSA held)
Advantageous
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (if CAD held)
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Minimum 4 years' experience as a Service Now Developer.
- Proven experience developing and supporting solutions on the Service Now platform.
- Experience with Service Now ITSM and related modules.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments is advantageous.
