The primary purpose of this role is to perform system application programming and related analysis tasks. This includes evaluating requirements, conducting technical feasibility studies, and designing, building, documenting, and implementing application systems. The role also involves enhancing existing systems and contributing to the overall stability and performance of mainframe applications.

• Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Natural/Adabas development.
• Strong experience with BATCH and Online processing.
• Proven track record in designing, constructing, deploying, and maintaining mainframe applications.
• Experience in code reviews, especially mentoring and reviewing code written by junior developers.

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification
• Grade 12

• Develop and maintain application software and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to development standards, procedures, and methods.
• Conduct impact and feasibility studies.
• Perform requirements analysis and design application systems and interfaces.
• Code, test, debug, and implement systems and program modules.
• Enhance and maintain existing systems.
• Ensure compliance with change control procedures.
• Create and update technical specifications and user documentation.
• Provide technical support and ensure system stability.
• Execute technical investigations and compile action plans.
• Assist in identifying processes and information flows aligned with business strategies.
• Provide training and support to users and team members.
• Perform code review and guide junior team members.
• Assist with system integration and implementation.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
• Review and mentor junior developers’ code, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
• Stay informed of current trends in systems development techniques.
