Technical Lead, Software Development, Software Architect

We're seeking an experienced Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer (5-8+ years) who is good at modernizing legacy systems and has some experience leading more junior developers.

You'll take ownership of a critical distributed system currently built on AngularJS and C# (.NET Framework / .NET Core), driving its complete transformation to a modern, scalable architecture aligned with current industry standards.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, works with distributed systems, and builds performant, data-driven solutions from the ground up.

The current environment has solid architecture, Domain Driven Design, Microservices, CI/CD, and ESB.

Although this role will report to the group Technology, it will have technical autonomy and ownership of Inoxico environment (a B2B Credit Bureau in South Africa), which contains multiple products and services.

• Modernize & Rebuild:
  Lead the complete migration of front-end and back-end components from AngularJS and .NET Framework to modern Angular (10+) and .NET Core/5+.
• Architect for Scale:
  Design and implement scalable microservices and RESTful APIs following SOLID principles.
• Distributed Systems:
  Manage inter-service communication using message bus technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Azure Service Bus within an event-driven architecture.
• Data & Performance:
  Optimize high-volume data processing, SQL Server performance, and system throughput.
• Technical Leadership:
  Guide and mentor a small team (2–3 developers), review code, and ensure engineering best practices are followed.
• Business Engagement:
  Work with business to prioritize across technical and business demands.
• System Ownership:
  Oversee the system lifecycle - from architecture, implementation, and CI/CD deployment to monitoring and support.
• Cross-Team

  Partner with product and business teams to align system capabilities with operational goals.
• Monitor and address security and governance needs.

• Strong ability to set technical direction, manage priorities, and ensure code quality.
• Strong ability to work with business to prioritize and balance business priorities against technical priorities.
• Excellent communication skills - able to explain complex technical topics to business and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborative mindset with a focus on problem-solving, accountability, and long-term system stability.

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5-8+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead or senior engineering capacity.
• Demonstrated success in system migrations, modernization, or large-scale platform upgrades.
