Hightop Health is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our integrative, collaborative team. Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
  • Diagnose and treat mental illnesses and disorders including major depressive disorder, bipolar illnesses, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and co‑morbid substance misuse.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor personalized treatment plans. Regularly assess and document patient progress toward their goals, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes and enhanced overall well‑being.
  • Refer and supervise effects of interventional treatments as appropriate including TMS, Esketamine (Spravato), and IV ketamine. Refer patients who require intensive psychotherapy to IOP programming as indicated.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor effectiveness, side effects, and patients’ preferences to develop an ideal pharmacological regimen.
  • Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals—including psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists—to coordinate comprehensive patient care and optimize treatment effectiveness.
  • Order medical work‑ups including laboratory assessments, diagnostic tests, and specialty consultations to ensure that physical health and mental health are fully integrated.
  • Review data from clinical outcome measurements and use objective results in addition to subjective reports to modify treatment plans to help maximize effectiveness.
Ideal Candidate
  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Board‑Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient setting.
  • Must have a Georgia state license and active DEA.
  • Board Certification.
  • Experience with mental health assessment, diagnosis, triage, managing common psychiatric medication and treatment plans, and managing crisis situations in an outpatient setting.
  • Experience working with Athena (EHR) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Understanding of utilization management principles to optimize patient care.
  • In‑depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities.
