Tax Supervisor​/Manager Johnson , TN

BCS is seeking a dynamic Tax Supervisor and/or Manager to join our growing Tax practice in Johnson City. This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the most respected Regional Firms.

• Manage and mentor members of Tax teams to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement
• Review and manage tax engagements
• Assume full responsibility for directing large engagements and special assignments
• Supervise the assignment of duties to, and the training of, staff and senior accountants assigned to engagements
• Monitor and manage time budgets for the office
• Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the Tax process
• Demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency
• Demonstrate an understanding of business issues relating to complex transactions
• Work and communicate effectively with clients to enhance their understanding of business and tax issues
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to the tax team
• Review and correspond with the IRS and Department of Revenue as it relates to audits and notifications.
• Demonstrate an awareness of firm software packages and the ability to use such software effectively and efficiently
• Self-Directed, Autonomous, Ambitious
• Exceptional and proactive communicator (verbal & written)

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; master’s degree in accounting preferred
• Current CPA license required
• 3 years or more of experience in preparing and reviewing individual, partnership and corporate tax returns.
• Prior Public Accounting Experience, required.
