Weekend Morning Anchor​/MMJ

Dominant CBS/ABC combo serving the Tri‑Cities, Tennessee and Virginia communities is looking for a Weekend Morning Anchor/MMJ.

The successful candidate should have prior news anchoring or reporting experience, excel at breaking news, and be a team player. They will anchor weekend morning newscasts and MMJ three days a week.

• Presents news stories and other content for all platforms.
• Ensures all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner.
• Works with management to enterprise and develop stories daily.
• Demonstrates compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots, stand‑ups, creative graphics, and use of digital and social media platforms.
• Organizes material, determines angle or emphasis, and writes story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards.
• Builds a network of sources who supply information.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication/Journalism or related degree required (equivalent years of experience may substitute for education).
• Two years of television anchoring or reporting experience required.
• Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation.
• Strong reporting skills.
• Understands importance of social media.
• Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and organizational skills.
• Promotes teamwork and maintains an attitude of cooperation with all station personnel.
