Senior Lab Manager

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a respected healthcare organization in East Tennessee to identify an experienced Senior Laboratory Manager
. This individual will provide strategic, operational, and technical leadership for a high‑complexity laboratory, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and exceptional quality standards.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. In addition to managing personnel and laboratory operations, the Senior Lab Manager is expected to perform bench work as needed, particularly during staffing shortages, employee absences, or periods of increased workload.

• Provide overall leadership and direction for daily laboratory operations
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, COLA, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory and accreditation standards
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, training, competency assessments, and performance management
• Maintain and enforce quality assurance, quality control, and safety programs
• Manage laboratory budgets, supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and process improvements
• Monitor workflow and turnaround times to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Serve as a technical and clinical resource for laboratory staff
• Perform bench testing and technical duties when necessary to maintain service levels
• Collaborate with organizational leadership, clinicians, and external partners

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field
• Current and active Medical Laboratory Supervisor (General) license issued by the State of Tennessee (required)
• National certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5–7 years of clinical laboratory experience, including progressive leadership or management responsibility
• Strong working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive operational excellence
• Willingness and ability to perform bench work as operational needs require

• Competitive salary range of $75,000–$100,000
