PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Perform patient assessments; obtain patient medical and social histories, diagnostic testing, and take vital signs.
- Evaluate signs and symptoms.
- Interpret/evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Monitor/review patient care and treatment plans.
- Provide education and counseling of patient and family in preventative care, medical conditions, and use of prescribed treatments/drugs.
- Refer patients to physicians or other healthcare professionals/facilities as needed and monitors outcome of the referral.
- Provide on‑call coverage for evenings and weekends as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Follow all organizational and governmental healthcare policies and procedures.
- Nurse Practitioner – bachelor’s degree in nursing and successful completion of a nurse practitioner program at the master level
- Physician Assistant – Graduate of accredited PA program
Three or more years of professional experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, ideally in the specific area.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:- Registered Nurse Licensure
- ANCC Certified as a nurse practitioner in a specialty area or PA.
