Part Time Cook – Washington County Schools (TN)

Assist in meal preparation and kitchen operations for a school nutrition program, ensuring a safe and clean environment and delivering exceptional customer service.

• High school diploma or GED preferred; related experience in the field acceptable.
• Previous experience and/or certified training in a school or commercial kitchen preferred, but not required.

• Prepare and serve food according to nutrition guidelines.
• Clean equipment and maintain sanitation standards.
• Operate a commercial dishwasher and other commercial‑grade kitchen equipment.
• Maintain kitchen inventory and stock levels.
• Assist with student meal reimbursements.
• Operate the point‑of‑sale cash register system.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requires confidentiality, concentration, and detail orientation; may encounter distraught or difficult individuals.

• Prolonged sitting and exposure to visual display terminals.
• Dexterity and precision required for computer operation.
• Stooping and/or kneeling, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, and lifting as needed.

• Adaptability to varying tasks without loss of efficiency.
• Comfortable dealing with people while giving and receiving instruction.
• Able to make generalizations, evaluations, and decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria.
