General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting them warmly, maintaining a clean work area, and presenting merchandise properly. The associate will be engaged in all assigned tasks during working hours and may be requested to perform additional tasks to support customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions
  • Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors at all times.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions.
  • Treat customers and associates with respect; remain friendly and professional.
  • Assisting customers—register training, merchandise assistance, answering questions politely and knowledgeably.
  • Respond promptly to customer service calls and resolve issues courteously.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
  • Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery per company best practice.
  • Expedite new merchandise receipts to the sales floor swiftly, following monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Understand the Loss Prevention Awareness program, the Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions; safeguard confidential information.
  • Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock policies and procedures.
  • Follow all cash, check, charge‑card, and refund procedures; maintain accuracy with bankable tenders.
  • Execute all store best practices with a sense of urgency and maximize productivity.

Qualifications And Special Skills

Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use all store equipment including PDTs, registers, and PC.
  • Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving in the store.
  • Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
  • Pushed, pulled, or lifted more than 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
  • Some assignments may require additional qualifications and skills.
  • For Stockroom shifts: regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
