Job DescriptionThe Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to deliver an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle to restore it to pre-accident condition.
Key Job Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
- Remove dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
- Realign chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts; repair or replace glass and windshields as needed.
- Repair or replace interior parts as required.
- Weld and attach parts, then repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or an agreed-upon equivalent.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair to ensure quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Skills and Abilities
- Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate effectively with other repairers in a shop setting.
- Understand methods and procedures for vehicle body repair.
- Proficient in operating required tools.
- Work safely in a noisy area with many odors.
- Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
