Hyperion Field Club is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Superintendent.
Established in 1910, Hyperion Field Club is a private 18-hole facility located north of Des Moines, Iowa. The course features bentgrass tees & fairways, a driving range, and a recently-constructed short game area.
Working in conjunction with a local developer, the club established Carmel Hyperion in 2023, an executive living community geared toward member engagement and growth. As Hyperion ushers in a new era of enduring prosperity, a long-term irrigation replacement plan has been implemented.
The staff is dedicated to fostering a positive environment and prioritizing personal growth. As a key member of our team, the candidate will report to and assist the Golf Course Superintendent in professionally maintaining the golf course and its related areas, while minimizing member inconvenience. Contributing to the grounds staff in an essential role, the candidate will participate in the conception, creation, and execution of routine club-improvement projects.
Characteristics such as a positive attitude and a strong work ethic are integral to success in this position. The candidate should have, or be ready to obtain, an Iowa Pesticide Applicator License within 60 days of employment.

Education: A two or four-year degree in turf management is preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in golf course maintenance is beneficial. Consistent opportunities are provided to develop skills.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining the golf course at a high level, leading team members, applying pesticides and fertilizers, performing irrigation system repairs, nurturing flowers, trees, and shrubbery, and caring for the clubhouse lawns.
