Overview
Our Float Pool nursing position offers the unique opportunity to make an impact across multiple areas of care ses in this role provide support where it’s needed most floating between our Inpatient Complex Medical units, Rehabilitation unit, and Medical Group Home. This position is ideal for a flexible, skilled nurse who enjoys variety, collaboration, and caring for children, adolescents and young adults with complex medical needs.
Schedule/ Benefits
- 3 shifts per week, 6am-6pm, every 4th weekend.
- Benefit eligible, including medical, dental, vision plans, retirement with company match, and generous PTO accrual, including 16 hours of PTO front‑loaded.
- Within the nursing scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process.
- Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and Child Serve policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, Child Serve staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
- Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery.
- Demonstrate good stewardship of Child Serve equipment, supplies, and environment.
- Current valid license as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
- One year of experience as an RN or one year of experience working at Child Serve in place of RN experience.
- Active BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
- Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing and speaking the English language.
