RN Team Lead - Pediatric Rehab

The RN Team Lead will guide a multidisciplinary team to deliver expert clinical care for children and teens in Child Serve’s Pediatric Inpatient Rehabilitation Medicine program, the only comprehensive pediatric rehab program of its kind in Iowa. This role ensures individualized care needs are met while fostering staff engagement and effective teamwork.

• Monday – Friday
• Open to evening or overnight shifts

• Ensure environment is maintained according to regulatory requirements. Consistently demonstrate good stewardship of Child Serve equipment, supplies, and environment.

• Within the nursing/respiratory therapy scope of practice and physician’s orders, ensure the implementation of each child’s care plan and achieves the goals set forth in that care plan.

• Ensure newly hired staff are equipped to provide care. Ensure assigned staff are engaged in their work and that they are appropriately developed. Effectively manage staff performance. Role model great care and coaches and mentors colleagues to improved performance.

• Ensure staff document accurately, completely, and timely as defined by nursing/respiratory therapy standards or practice and Child Serve policies and procedures and provides feedback to supervisor on how the documentation system can be improved.

• Current valid license as a RN in Iowa.
• Preferred: 2 years of nursing experience in pediatrics, rehabilitation and/or with children with complex medical conditions.
• Preferred:
  Specialty nursing certifications (CPN, CBIS, CRRN).
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days and before working independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
