Part-Time Store Clerk – Goodwill of Central Iowa

Pay: $15.00 – $16.00 an hour (base rate)

Goodwill of Central Iowa is looking for a part‑time Store Clerk to accept, sort, and merchandise donated goods, cashier, and deliver outstanding customer service with our values of love, kindness, and respect.

• Greet, assist, and engage customers in a helpful and courteous manner.
• Receive donations from the public and sort them for quality and manage inventory.
• Operate the cash register, balance cash, and provide accurate receipts.
• Arrange and rotate merchandise on the sales floor, keeping items organized and accessible.
• Carry out general cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, scrubbing, dusting, and mopping.
• Use a dolly, wheeled cart, pallet jack, and occasionally a riding or walk‑behind forklift.
• Meet daily production goals and complete other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service skills (continuous improvement).
• High school diploma or equivalency (GED) or at least four years of related employment or military service.
• Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends.
• Physical ability to carry, lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds.
• Tolerance for variations in temperature and standing for long periods.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Strong communication and basic math skills.
• Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to work well on a team.
• Must pass a criminal background check and a dependent adult and child abuse background check.
• Flexibility for a schedule that includes overnight or irregular hours, as needed.

• Competitive starting wage of $15.00 per hour.
• Weekend shift premium of $1.00 an hour on Saturday and Sunday.
