Description

As a Finance Manager on the Enterprise Finance team, you will be the primary contact point for all Property Rent items across the Bank, as well as the finance partner to our Corporate Services and Procurement divisions. This includes working with our Property business partners in the Lease Administration, Corporate Services, and Procurement teams, and also plays an important role in coordinating discussions across Accounting, Policy, Retail, Commercial, and Private Bank functions.

This role is a key position and requires a balance of accounting detail, comfort working with large data sets, and partnering with multiple stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

The following highlights the key responsibilities:

  • Financial oversight and control of the annual budgets, strategic plan, and monthly forecasts for all Net Rent items, including base rent, common area maintenance, property taxes, sublease income, and other cost efficiency programs
  • Primary liaison with our Fixed Asset team to close our Costar lease accounting system each month, including reviewing complex transactions, providing financial guidance or instruction(s), and ensuring adherence to ASC 842 standards
  • Primary business partner for our Corporate Services business function, including providing monthly financial statements and advice, maintaining our VPPA program, and oversight of our aviation department and health & safety matters
  • Primary business partner for our Procurement business function, including providing monthly financial statements and support for our vendor optimization program
  • Analyze performance and financial data to identify and explain variances for month end reporting and to improve business decision making
  • Look for new opportunities to improve financial modeling and other forecasting processes through the use of new tools, models, AI, etc.
  • Perform other ad hoc financial responsibilities, as required
Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
  • Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
    • Minimum 8 - 15 years of direct experience in business unit financial management, preferably at a financial institution
    • Working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase/Smart View/Dodeca and Oracle financials
    • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the big picture, while working through the operational details required to construct a forecast / budget / report
    • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and diligence, leveraging strong organizational and analytical skills to independently manage complex tasks, while building effective relationships and collaborating seamlessly with business partners
    • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines, and taking a proactive, action-oriented approach to problem solving
    • Demonstrates strong desktop PC skills—including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint—paired with effective written and verbal communication abilities for clear and impactful business interactions
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Lease Accounting standard ASC 842
    • Experience with Costar Lease Accounting software package a plus
    • Comfort and/or experience with reviewing property lease contract documents
    • Experience in process improvement and documentation a plus
