- Computer literate and proficient in clinical documentation
- Basic internet navigation skills
- Valid certification from the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Valid Occupational Therapist state license (where applicable)
Provide occupational therapy (OT) and related services for patients while maintaining positive interactions with facilities and clients in accordance with OT principles and within Reliant Rehabilitation guidelines. Deliver quality patient care including screening, evaluation, developing treatment and discharge plans, supervising assistants and rehab techs, and managing cases. Represent Reliant Rehabilitation’s commitment to quality and service in all client interactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Optimize patients’ functionality and skills through OT delivery, direction, and/or oversight
- Consult and supervise Certified OT Assistants (COTAs)
- Directly supervise COTAs and rehab techs during group and individual treatment, promoting efficient resource use and clinical skill development per state practice acts, OBRA, and company policy
- Build a robust occupational therapy program
- Enhance clinical, professional, and managerial skills via interaction with managers, therapists, and other staff, self‑study, and continuing education
- Maintain a valid state license and stay informed about profession and healthcare environment issues
- Understand payment models, billing, and treatment guidelines to provide quality care with appropriate goals and outcomes
- Adhere to infection control and environmental safety protocols
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension)
