Store Manager in Training

Overview

Store Manager in Training role at O'Reilly Auto Parts. The objective is hands-on training preparing the individual for a management position in another store or future location. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

• Assist store manager in sales, appearance, and overall operations of the store.
• Supervise the professional and retail operations of store team members (delivery, installer service specialists, parts and merchandising specialists).
• Work with district manager and store manager on recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members.
• Communicate information from Team Weekly and monthly store managers’ meetings to all team members.
• Train new team members; conduct performance evaluations and recommend pay increases.
• Assist in hiring by completing recruiting tasks, interviewing, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
• Support store manager with safety compliance and comprehensive training for all staff; monitor and reinforce safety expectations.
• Make sales calls with or without the store manager; may be assigned a schedule for weekly customer calls.
• Support store operations as assigned; maintain delivery fleet records and ensure the store/HUB is neat, clean, and organized.
• Learn to use electronic scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll entry systems.
• Learn to manage key components of gross profit; monitor returns for core and warranty abuse; review price matches and overrides; review KPI dashboard daily; and discuss opportunities after reviewing the monthly P&L with the store manager.

• Required:
  
  High School Diploma.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Must complete Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.
• Ability to read and match numerical and alphanumeric characters quickly and accurately.
• Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systems.

• OReilly store and/or distribution center experience.
• Completed OReilly management training program.
• Advanced computer skills.
• ASE Certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
