Reporting to: Production Supervisor / Production Manager
Location: Baltic Buildings, Gilberdyke, East Yorkshire, HU15 2TD
Working Hours: There are various shift patterns (depending on business requirements).
We are seeking experienced operatives who are motivated, reliable and excited to join the Johnston and Jeff team. We are looking for candidates who take pride in their work and have a pro‑active approach to work in terms of both producing the required output, whilst also being passionate about the quality and accuracy of their work.
Job SummaryYou would be required to work as part of a team and carry out various functions within the production process. Therefore, this position may involve you working in Goods In, Production or Goods Out (depended on business needs at the time of your application), this would be discussed further at the interview stage/s. You may also be trained in other areas of the warehouse for cover, when required.
MainDuties & Responsibilities:
- Follow Company policies and procedures at all times.
- Measuring, grading and feeding batches of raw materials into production machinery. Ensuring operational processes and production line equipment is running effectively to meet production targets in accordance with customer orders.
- Monitoring the production process and carrying out basic testing and quality checks.
- Loading / unloading of trailers using FLT or conveyor system.
- Using FLT/PPT trucks to move raw materials or packaging to the required filling line in a timely manner avoiding delays in output.
- Hand stacking pallets, when required.
- Laise and assist with various tasks in all areas within the warehouse, such as the ripping and tipping station, when necessary.
- Liaising and good communication with other colleagues/supervisors and departments in relation to goods, materials and production matters.
- Involvement with stock storage methods, along with stock checks, rotation, and regulations, such as scale and weight checks.
- Report any breakdowns to the Site Engineer and provide assistance with PPM.
- Accurately filling in documentation.
- Correctly identifying packaging and labels to product.
- Printing and accurate placement of labels, ensuring compliance with QC standards.
- Compliance with health and safety standards, policies and procedures.
- Reporting discrepancies to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Previous experience working in a continuous process/production environment within manufacturing.
- Ability to work while standing for long hours and consistently lift products of various weights.
- Health and Safety knowledge and awareness.
This is a family business and consequently, you may be required to cover for other staff members as a result of holidays or sickness. You may therefore need to show a level of flexibility in the roles you are asked to perform. In such instances, full training will be provided.
